Kathmandu’s partnership with Outward Bound started in July 2005 and since then they have been providing clothing and equipment for our courses. Each year since Kathmandu has offered the Live the Dream Scholarships for their customers to have an opportunity to attend an Outward Bound course.
Kathmandu’s dream is to share the dream with everyone, make sure people have what they need to make it great, and dangle the carrot of inspiration to take them further still. This dream ties in with Outward Bounds aim to encourage participants to strive for greatness, and try new things through challenge and adventure in the outdoors.
Kathmandu has involved Outward Bound in product testing and all Outward Bound instructors have been provided with clothing. Knowing the outdoor activities and locations that make up our courses, Kathmandu has endeavoured to provide durable gear that is suitable for our students. Some of the gear includes the tents students take out on expeditions. "The Mountain Plus tent is regularly used out in the field as accommodation for our students. It’s flexible which is great for team dynamics and cleverly designed to make it easy to erect," explains Nikki (Outward Bounds operations manager). "Whether there are strong winds, driving rain or hot sun, we know that our students will be well protected from the elements when they’re in a Mountain Plus tent."
