The Girl Guiding Challenge course is an 8 day Outward Bound experience for Girl Guiding leaders over the age of 18. This action packed course will enable you to unify with others in the organisation through a shared and challenging experience. Skills such as sailing, kayaking, bush and navigation will become second place to the challenge and belief instilled that there is more in you, and that you can achieve your dreams if you persevere.
Some of the benefits you will get from the course are:
Challenge your limits, conquer your fears and know 'you can do it'
Discover what it takes to create effective relationships and be part of a successful team.
Time to yourself to reflect and consider your next opportunities
Rejuvenate and boost your appreciation for life
A powerful learning experience, with other Girl Guiding adults, that you can transfer the learning to use with your units, district, regions, zones and national organisation.
Course 1 - Based on the Aspire course
29 April - 6 May 2012
Course 2 - Based on the Discovery course
9 - 16 June 2012
The courses are 8 days. The first course will be a lower-impact course (based on Outward Bounds' Aspire course). The second will be based on the Discovery course. Aspire is for people who find running or carrying a tramping pack difficult but both courses provide the same benefits.
Course Fee:
The course fee for the Girl Guiding Challenge course is $500 including GST per participant. This includes all accommodation, equipment, food and two highly qualified instructors.
The remaining course fees ($1765) are sourced by Outward Bound.
Participants will need to pay for travel to and from Picton, and cover the cost of completing and Outward Bound medical form with their doctor.
