There is a huge range of experiential team initiatives run indoors or outdoors. They can be anything from interactive puzzles, reflective exercises or role-plays. These are very time efficient activities that emphasise a point or key issues facing the team at work.
On site at Anakiwa is a natural and picturesque rock face where participants work in interchangeable pairs. This activity has flexibility to provide challenges at a variety of levels. It requires trust and clear communication. It lends itself to learning themes around empowerment, individual responsibility and the value of trust.
We use 32-foot gaff rigged sailing cutters traditionally used to train sailors. This exercise provides a high degree of uncertainty and challenge. It requires coordination, problem solving and rapid decision-making. It lends itself to exploring leadership, role clarification and team culture.
Set in a magnificent grove of native kahikatea trees, the high ropes course is designed to place people outside their comfort zone. It provides the platform for significant learning about self-limiting beliefs and stretch goals. It also offers the opportunity for groups and individuals to experience the importance of trust and support, and get a deeper understanding of how others operate. The activity can be conducted at night under floodlights for real atmosphere.
Using the bush, ridges and valley of the Queen Charlotte area provides challenging orientation journeys and problem-solving exercises using maps and compasses.
