Your Contribution

Step 1: Your Contribution

Once you have paid your deposit to enrol on a course, you can start raising the rest of your funds. The earlier you enrol, the more opportunity you have to fundraise.

How much can you pay or save?

The first place to start is savings you already have or can raise. Set a goal of what you plan to save and contribute to your course fees.

There are lots of ways you can raise the money for your course fees.Think outside the square for ideas – a positive attitude is the main ingredient for success.

Note that your course cannot be paid using a student loan.

Family and Friends

Those closest to you already realise your potential. Ask all your relations and you may be surprised to learn how supportive they are of Outward Bound – you could ask for a donation instead of a birthday or Christmas present.

Do you work part-time or full-time?

Employers value the positive impact an Outward Bound course has on staff, both personally and for their organisation. Many participants are fully funded by their employer. Our courses are tax deductible as a training expense. If your employer cannot provide full support, you could ask them for a contribution.

If you are in receipt of a Benefit, you may be eligible for funding through Work and Income New Zealand. Contact your Case Manager at Work and Income.
