Deaf Adventure

Deaf Adventure is an eight day course for people over 18 years from the Deaf community.  Just like any other Outward Bound course, you will do activities like sailing, kayaking, rock climbing and tramping. By getting outside your comfort zone, you will achieve more than you ever thought possible.

Benefits you will get from a Deaf Adventure course are:

  1. Challenge yourself and push your limits

  2. Increase your motivation to try new experiences

  3. Make new friends from around New Zealand

  4. Boost your confidence and know that 'you can do it'!

Deaf Adventure is suitable for people who:

  1. Are Deaf or hearing impaired (11 people) or an NZSL graduate (one person)

  2. Use NZSL or will learn NZSL before the course

  3. Are confident in water and have good fitness

  4. Do not smoke or can be smokefree during the course

  5. Have experience away from home and work well in a team environment.

Deaf Adventure is run in association with Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand. Two NZSL Interpreters support the course.
