In the summer of 2018/2019 Breanna will be swimming the Cook Strait to fundraise for Outward Bound.
Teams will have 2 hours to swim as far as they can, with one person from each team in the water at one time and teams swapping out their people as often as they want.
We recommend having a team with between 3-6 participants - depending on how easy or challenging you want to make it, and the skill level of your participants. Participants can swim any style of stroke.
Each team will be responsible for counting their lengths, and the winner is the team that swims the furthest (and gets a prize!) The event can be taken as competitively or as socially as you wish - we encourage all teams to go hard and have fun.
The Swimathon provides an excellent opportunity for swim training and team building, as well getting to know the other user groups of WRAC.
The event costs $15 per person, which covers the cost of running the event, but largely goes towards Outward Bound as a fundraiser for them to give out scholarships to people who otherwise couldn't afford it.
To enter the Swimathon, get a team together or you can enter individually at WRAC reception.
