For ages 20+ Duration 8 days

Connect is specifically designed to build the skills and confidence of those working with young people.

This 8 day course offers a unique networking opportunity. It’s a chance to learn from peers in your sector, sharing your experiences and insights in a safe and supportive environment.

We’ll support you to understand your own strengths and areas for development whilst learning how to transfer new skills back to the workplace. You’ll leave feeling empowered, refreshed and with new strategies for building relationships and enhancing participation.

We are proud to be able to offer an 80% subsidy of the course fee, meaning you only need to contribute $500 towards this life-changing experience.

The connections I made, the learning I took away and the collaboration of new ideas will empower me and assist the youth I work with.

The fitter you are, the more you will get out of your course. For our standard 8 or 21 day courses, you will need to be able to run 3km in under 25 minutes and complete a full day of activities. Some other courses have varying fitness requirements (eg Aspire, Discovery, Leaps and Bounds, Navigator and Compass)
Check out our guide to getting fit and healthy for OB.

Ideally, you should have two or more years' experience of working with young people. This experience can be in any capacity - as a teacher, youth worker, volunteer, Scout leader etc.

You do not have to apply through your workplace to attend Connect and are welcome to apply as an individual. Simply choose your course date online and make a booking.
However, don't forget your organisation may be able to support you with funding towards this professional development opportunity.

We understand it can be difficult to balance your commitments with a course. Try involving and engaging your employer in your Outward Bound programme. Explain what you'll get out of it and how your effectiveness at work should also improve.
