To attend an Outward Bound course you must complete an enrolment form. There are different forms depending on the course:
If you are going on a Mind Body Soul, Classic, Masters, Discovery, Aspire, Activate, Horizons or No Limits course please complete a Standard OB enrolment form. This form is able to be completed online, however on completion you must print, sign and post, email or fax to us - as it does not allow changes to be saved. Please ensure you complete all FOUR pages. If you have not booked on a course yet you can either send in the form with your deposit or book online from the course page.

All participants on courses at Outward Bound are required to complete an Outward Bound medical form with a doctor. The medical is only to ensure that any conditions that may prevent safe completion of the course are identified. The medical is due 8 weeks before your course starts and is valid for 90 days. If your form is completed too early you will be asked to get your doctor to re-sign your form. The medical is completed at your expense and usually costs in the region of $30-70.
The medical form will be sent out with your registration/enrolment letter, advising the dates for completion. Your completed medical will be assessed by our nurse. Final acceptance to Outward Bound is subject to approval by your doctor and our nurse.
Please contact email@example.com if you require a copy of our medical form

How fit do I need to be?
Courses involve physical challenge. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy your course right from Day 1. You need to be able to particpate in a full day's physical activity and be able to comfortably run three kilometres in under 25 minutes. There will be water activities, so you need to be comfortable in water, but lifejackets will be always be available.
Courses for those with varying abilities and some custom design courses have different fitness requirements.

If you are NOT a New Zealand, Pacific Island or Australian citizen, OR a New Zealand resident (citizenship and residency are two different things), then you are generally deemed to be an international student under the New Zealand Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.
You need to have a medium to good grasp of English to understand instructions and therefore ensure your own, and others safety on the course. Once you are enrolled you will need to provide the following eight weeks prior to your course start:
- Your completed medical form
- Payment of your course fees.
There is an additional charge for international students of $860NZD for 21 day courses and $360NZD for 8 day courses. From January 2012 this charge will rise to $370NZD for 8 day courses and $880NZD for 21 day courses. Our advertised rates are subsidised and Outward Bound (a non-profit organisation) sources funding for the shortfall of this rate for all New Zealand citizens/residents. Unfortunately we cannot offer this subsidy to international students. These fees do not apply to New Zealand, Australian and Pacific Island residents. Please read the international student terms and conditions.
