PASS THE BATON SCHOLARSHIP

A once in a life-time opportunity to experience an Outward Bound course on a Pass The Baton Scholarship! We're offering 50% scholarships to friends and relatives of Outward Bound NZ alumni. We invite you to share this opportunity with as many people as you like - there is no upper limit to the number of referrals you can make.

One-Week Course (Ages 18-26)
• 28 July – 3 August 2026
• 11 August – 17 August 2026
• 25 August – 31 August 2026
• 8 September – 14 September 2026

One-Week Course (Ages 16-18)
• 21 September - 27 September 2026
• 1 October - 7 October 2026

APPLY FOR A PASS THE BATON SCHOLARSHIP

We're asking our alumni to pass their Outward Bound baton to friends and whānau by encouraging them (you!) to apply for a scholarship and make a life-changing journey to Anakiwa! This is an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and uncover the version of yourself that exists beyond your perceived limitations.

Our courses will take you on a journey that offers a balance of adventure and reflection. You'll find a sense of belonging, and leave Anakiwa with new connections, a better understanding of yourself and your relationship to the wider world, and a greater sense of confidence, resilience, and self-belief.

We believe this life-changing experience should be accessible to everyone in Aotearoa. If you or someone you love has always dreamed of attending but thought it was financially out of reach, we can help!

Please check that you meet the following funding criteria before completing the application form:

  • I am a New Zealand Citizen or Resident currently living in New Zealand

  • I am aged 16-26 years old

  • I am able to cover 50% of the course fee for a One-Week course ($2099).

  • I am able to cover my own medical and travel expenses.

Thanks to the support of our generous donor community and the Outward Bound Foundation Trust, our Pass The Baton 2026 Scholarships will cover 50% of the course fee for selected One-Week Courses in the month of July, August and September 2026.
