Pass the Baton Scholarship - Outward Bound

Pass the Baton Scholarship

Are you tired of the same old routine? Do you yearn for a break from the noise and chaos? Are you ready to shed your old self and embrace your best self? Do you crave a transformative experience that will change your life forever? Apply for a Pass The Baton scholarship!

We're asking our alumni to pass their Outward Bound baton to friends and whānau by encouraging them (you!) to apply for a scholarship and make a life-changing journey to Anakiwa! This is an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and uncover the version of yourself that exists beyond your perceived limitations.

Our Pass The Baton Scholarship is funding Classic courses in February and March 2025. These courses are often in high-demand so we typically reserve our scholarships for the cooler months. This is a rare opportunity to receive a Pass The Baton scholarship for the warmer months of the year!

Our Classic course is the original and iconic Outward Bound experience that offers a balance of adventure and reflection. You'll find a sense of belonging, and leave Anakiwa with new connections, a better understanding of yourself and your relationship to the wider world, and a greater sense of confidence, resilience, and self-belief.

We believe this life-changing experience should be accessible to everyone in Aotearoa. If you or someone you love has always dreamed of attending but thought it was financially out of reach, we can help!

Please check that you meet the following funding criteria before completing the application form:

  • I am a New Zealand Citizen or Resident currently living in New Zealand
  • I am aged 18-26 years

Thanks to the support of our generous donor community and the Outward Bound Foundation Trust, our scholarship funding can cover up to 70% of the normal course fee on our Classic 21-day course!

APPLICATIONS CLOSED.

Everyone I've spoken to about OB has said it is life-changing and I didn't get a full understanding of the impact this would have on me until I was here. I have learned to take time, appreciate the small things, believe in myself, push myself to my limits, overcome obstacles and made some life long friends. I can’t wait to put these changes into place in my life as I move forward. I have discovered that there really is more in me.
