Booking your Outward Bound Course

Begin your journey to Outward Bound by visiting our course finder. Choose the adventure that's right for you, select the date and complete the online booking form with your details.

Then pay your $749 deposit to reserve your place and check out the steps below to learn what happens next.

I've booked my course – what now?

After making your online booking, you’ll receive email confirmation from our enrolment team.

You’ll then need to create your account and fill out an enrolment form, which you can find via the link in your confirmation email. Once you’ve completed and submitted this to us, we'll arrange a time with you for a quick pre-course chat.

If you do not receive this confirmation email after booking, or have any questions about the process, give us a quick call on 0800 688 927 and we will be happy to help you.

Confirmation of enrolment is subject to approval from the Outward Bound medical screening team. Read the Outward Bound Participation Guidelines.

Please do not book your travel until you have completed our 3 step enrolment process.

Once you've made a booking online, please check your confirmation email to find the hyperlink to our enrolment portal. If you are experiencing issues completing this form on your computer, please contact our Enrolments team.

Medical form

Please do not complete the medical form, until instructed by a member of our team. Complete with your doctor and return it to us by the due date indicated in your pre-course email. You may need to pay for your medical appointment (often between $35-70).

Confirmation and Payment

Once your medical has been approved by our nurse, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

If you’re responsible for settling the full course fee, you’ll need to pay your balance at least 8 weeks before your course start date. Find out more in our Terms & Conditions.

Ways to pay

Pay via credit card by logging into your account. Your account is created after you've booked online and activated it by email confirmation. Alternatively, you can call us on 0800 688 927 and we can process payments over the phone.

Please note that due to our bank's policy we are unable to accept cheques as a form of payment.

International participants

Please read the additional criteria for international participants below:

Outward Bound requires full disclosure of all medical and criminal history. Confirmation of your enrolment is subject to approval from the Outward Bound NZ medical screening team. Read our Participation Guidelines here.
As with many other New Zealand educational institutions, international participants are charged an additional fee for courses. As a non-profit organisation, we source funding to reduce our course fees for New Zealand citizens and residents. Unfortunately international participants are not eligible for this funding. An additional charge of $1000NZD for 21-day courses and $500NZD for 8-day courses applies to all non-New Zealand Citizens/Residents.
To safely participate in our courses you need to have a good understanding of English. Our instructors are all English speakers, and are not able to translate information into different languages.
